Chaired by the two Presidents of the French Defence Commissions of the National Assembly and the Senate, the Summer University is bringing together the top 250 French and European political leaders as well as the main administrative and economic decision makers in the Defence area. As is the case each year, all those taking part will be looking forward to the speech given by French Minister for Defence.

The Defence University's aim is to anticipate and prepare for the main events and key issues likely to be in the news throughout the year. This year, the University is even more important as it falls within the context of the French Presidency of the European Union which has made Defence one of its top three priorities.
